Liberalisering online kansspelen onzeker

Europees Parlement stemt 14 november

De kans dat de markt voor online kansspelen in Nederland volledig wordt geliberaliseerd is klein. Het Europees Parlement steunt naar verwachting op 14 november een voorstel dat alle lidstaten van de EU de vrijheid geeft een eigen beleid te voeren inzake online gokken. Daarmee is een overkoepelende wet die moet leiden tot eenheid in de Europese online gokmarkt van de baan. Tweede Kamer vreest verlies aan inkomsten

Hoewel VVD staatssecretaris Fred Teeven van Veiligheid en Justitie voorstander is van verregaande liberalisering van internet gokken, wil een meerderheid van de Tweede Kamer daar niet veel van weten. Deze partijen zijn bang dat de huidige aanbieders van kansspelen zoals Staatsloterij, Postcodeloterij, Toto en Holland Casino, minder geld zullen opbrengen voor goede doelen en sport. Met een beroep op de vermeende verslavingsrisico’s van online gamen, eisen zij van staatsecretaris Teeven een pakket maatregelen dat het aanbieden van kansspelen op internet onaantrekkelijk maakt.

Verslavingsrisico niet gefundeerd

En dus kan het Nederlandse staatsmonopolie op het aanbieden van kansspelen moeiteloos gehandhaafd blijven. Zo zullen ook andere partijen geweerd worden van de markt.”

“Bovendien is het natuurlijk onzin dat de kansspelindustrie op internet geen oog zou hebben voor mogelijke verslaving. Juist online aanbieders kunnen dankzij hun software risicospelers herkennen en in bescherming nemen. En dat doen ze ook. Daar heeft de industrie zelf baat bij. Geen enkel online casino wil bekend staan als een ‘foute plek’. Sterker nog, juist een liberalisering van het kansspelaanbod op internet geeft garanties op betrouwbare kansspelsites.”

Telstar en MVV tegen racisme

Telstar en MVV spelen vanavond tegen elkaar in IJmuiden. Voor beide ploegen staat winnen centraal, maar bij uitzondering hebben de clubs een gemeenschappelijk belang: stelling nemen tegen racisme. De campagne ‘Racisme: NEE!’ trekt ten strijde tegen racisme en discriminatie in het voetbal, en wordt georganiseerd door Football Against Racism Europe (FARE). We kijken vooruit op de wedstrijd, die volledig in zwart-wit decor gespeeld zal worden. Telstar, voor de gelegenheid in het zwart gekleed, staat twaalde, met elf punten uit negen wedstrijden. In thuiswedstrijden is de ploeg van Jan Poortvliet erg sterk: er werd al sinds februari niet verloren in eigen huis. Afgelopen speelronde won Telstar met liefst 2-5 bij Fortuna Sittard. Vanavond moet de ploeg het wel doen zonder sterkhouders Frank Korpershoek en Andrew Ornoch (geblesseerd).

Daar komt bij dat de Maastrichtenaren het waarschijnlijk zonder hun aanvalsleider en hun trainer moeten doen. Telstar is onberekenbaar, maar beschikt over genoeg kwaliteit om het wisselvallige MVV te verslaan. Daarom tippen wij een thuisoverwinning, met een odd van 2.30 bij Unibet!
